The Scandinavian Method® shows you how to analyze a TV series or program in an extremely effective way. So that you remember and use new vocabulary correctly. The Scandinavian Method® teaches speaking, listening, writing and reading skills.

The Scandinavian Method® is an officially registered and patented method for learning foreign languages. The name and logo are protected trademarks, and the method can only be taught by qualified and authorised trainers, because only then is it used correctly and ensures maximum effectiveness.

A) IS THE SCANDINAVIAN METHOD® COURSE SUITABLE FOR ME?
The course is best suited and recommended for people who have at least a minimal knowledge of English. No level is too low, but it's usual that the audio-visual material, i.e. films and series (also those for classic English learning) are above level A1.
However, I have good news! Even if you can't speak English at all, it will only be necessary to choose appropriate audiovisual materials at your level. So you can successfully use the Scandinavian Method® regardless of your level.

B) IS THE SCANDINAVIAN METHOD® COURSE JUST WATCHING VIDEOS OR SOMETHING MORE?
The Scandinavian Method® is not just watching films and TV series. It is a special analysis of dialogues of TV productions. Watching alone doesn't help us SPEAK English! After all, many of us watch films and TV series regularly, but we still DON'T SPEAK English well.

Of course, if you want to additionally watch series and movies in the original version for pleasure, that's a great idea - but it's not homework according to the Scandinavian Method®.

The Scandinavian Method® is like a good workout in the gym, and just watching the series is like a massage after a workout. Our muscles won't grow from a massage alone, although it is nice to be massaged after a hard workout. Just as a gym is necessary for muscle growth, analysis of the material according to the Scandinavian Method® is necessary for speaking and understanding at a high level.

C) WHAT IS THE "NATIVE SPEAKER EXPERIENCE" IN THE SCANDINAVIAN METHOD®?
The Scandinavian Method® will allow you to understand a TV series or film like a Native Speaker (i.e. a person who speaks their native language) and to learn the new expressions so well that you can speak as naturally as the actors in the film. The Scandinavian Method® will also teach you how to use these expressions in new contexts. NATIVE SPEAKER EXPERIENCE' will thus allow you to experience the knowledge of English at the level of people who use it every day.

The Scandinavian Method® is like a funnel - you work through a piece of material step by step according to my instructions, so that at the end you can watch your favourite TV series or movie without subtitles, understanding it like a Native Speaker. In the Scandinavian Method® we call this NATIVE SPEAKER EXPERIENCE.

NATIVE SPEAKER EXPERIENCE means that you will understand the series just like a Native Speaker - but not only! After using the Scandinavian Method® as an additional 'side effect' you will learn to speak, understand, write and read like a NATIVE SPEAKER. You will not only understand what the actors say, but you will also speak like them.

D) CAN I LEARN THE SCANDINAVIAN METHOD® FROM ALL FILMS AND TV SERIES?
You need to find the program, movie or series that is right for you! I encourage you to visit my Facebook & Instagram accounts and YouTube channel, where you'll find recommendations of English-language series and films appropriate for your level - so neither too difficult nor too easy. You won't learn anything from easy ones, and difficult ones will discourage you from learning. You need to find the programme, film or series that is right for you!

YOU NEED TO FIND A SERIES/MOVIE OR SHOW THAT YOU LOVE AND GET ADDICTED TO IT! I personally am a fan of series that never end - for my students of course. Since you can't move to a country where the language you want to learn is spoken, bring that country into your home.

If you go to bed and can't sleep because you want to know what's going to happen - THIS IS A GOOD SERIES FOR YOU! Is the series boring? Change it. Find something you'll love!

A) WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN OTHER METHODS OF LEARNING ENGLISH AND THE SCANDINAVIAN METHOD®?
Since I started teaching with the Scandinavian Method®, my students learn much faster because their homework is attractive, interesting and engaging. My students are also much happier because they love their homework - who doesn't love a good movie or TV series!

Since I've been using the Scandinavian Method as a teacher I've observed the incredible progress of my pupils. Traditional ways of education can be compared to driving a toddler and the Scandinavian Method® to flying a space rocket. B) DOES THE SCANDINAVIAN METHOD REQUIRE MEMORIZING WORDS AFTER CLASS?

The words that you 'process' by using an excerpt from the series will stay in your head by themselves, thanks to the Scandinavian Method®, which teaches you how to analyze a film or a series in such a way, that later you won't have to do ANYTHING AGAIN!

C) IS IT POSSIBLE TO LEARN DIFFERENT LANGUAGES WITH THE SCANDINAVIAN METHOD®?
The Scandinavian Method® focuses OBVIOUSLY on learning English, but it can also be used to learn other languages.
My students, having become acquainted with the Scandinavian Method® through learning English, often later use it to learn other foreign languages, such as Swedish, Norwegian, Spanish, Italian and even Arabic.

The Scandinavian Method® can help you learn any language from your favorite movie, TV series or any show. All you need to know is the alphabet of the language and how to read the subtitles with the dialogue on screen.

The Scandinavian Method® is very simple and effective and can be used to learn most languages - NOTE: the condition is access to original films in the language you want to learn, i.e. with subtitles in the given language. The subtitles themselves must be identical to the words spoken by the actor. We learn German from original German-language TV series, English from English-language ones, and French from French-language ones!

D) CAN A PERSON WHO HAS COMPLETED A SCANDINAVIAN METHOD® COURSE LEARN THE LANGUAGE ON HIS/HER OWN WITHOUT A TEACHER?
Anyone who has completed a Scandinavian Method® course can learn on their own from films and series.
Once you've learned the Scandinavian Method®, you can learn on your own or continue to meet with a trainer. The coach's care consists in the fact that after processing the series or film according to the Scandinavian Method®, we meet to check the level of your development and provide additional motivation.

I emphasize that all course graduates can learn on their own. Coaching is only an offer of additional support for those who need it.

E) DOES THE SCANDINAVIAN METHOD ® INCLUDE LEARNING GRAMMAR?
Scandinavian Method® trainers provide additional training to make English grammar really simple. During several grammar sessions, they can organize and complete your grammar knowledge.

During the 5 meetings we spend all our time learning the Scandinavian Method®. If there is a need to learn grammar, we do it separately after the course. Then, we meet for a few lessons to 'straighten out' your previous grammar knowledge, or to teach you grammar from the beginning - depending on the need. The Scandinavian Method® teaches grammar in an innovative way by comparing tenses, so that you know EXACTLY WHICH TENSE to use.

A) THE STRUCTURE OF THE SCANDINAVIAN METHOD® INDIVIDUAL COURSE?

• The course consists of 5 individual 60-minute meetings

The first lesson is an introduction to the Scandinavian Method® and an analysis of your knowledge of English. All this is done in order to choose the right rhythm of learning for you.

For the second, third, fourth and fifth lesson you prepare your homework according to the instructions from previous meetings.

Homework takes 1-2 hours depending on how advanced the course is.

The frequency of lessons is up to you: usually our individual meetings are once a week, but you can also meet every day or once every two weeks - it's up to you. It all depends on how much time you have to prepare for the next part of the course!

B) WHAT DOES THE SCANDINAVIAN METHOD® HOMEWORK IN LOOK LIKE?
In order to do homework you watch a TV series according to the instructions you learn during a Scandinavian Method® course. The Scandinavian Method® course consists of 5 parts, or 5 separate meetings.

FIRST LESSON
During the first lesson you receive the initial steps of the Scandinavian Method®, so that you can prepare for the next second meeting, and we choose a suitable series/film for you. Your homework is short - it takes about 1 hour.

SECOND LESSON
You prepare for the second meeting, using the initial steps of the Scandinavian Method® that you received during the first meeting. These steps help you to analyse a film or TV series so that you can understand it completely and speak like the actors in the film/series. The series/film that you will use for this homework is always chosen by us together for you during our first meeting. Your homework is short - it takes about 1 hour.

THIRD LESSON
You prepare homework according to the Scandinavian Method® according to the steps received in the previous meetings. The homework takes about 1-2 hours.

FOURTH AND FIFTH LESSON
You prepare homework according to the Scandinavian Method® according to the steps received at the previous meetings. The homework takes about 1-2 hours.

At the fourth and fifth meeting you already know all the tools of the Scandinavian Method® and we then make sure that you can use them well in your learning.
